If your browser is ever causing you trouble when at work, there's an easy catch-all solution which only takes a few clicks and can solve many issues. Clearing cookies should be a first step in diagnosing any browser-related issue, before taking a further dive into the problem. This applies to any browser, but this article will just look at Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome as these are the most common browsers.

Microsoft Edge

1. The first step is to click the three dots at the top right of your Edge window. Then hit Settings at the bottom.

2. Once inside Settings, you can use the search bar to search for "cookies", or simply hit Privacy, search and services on the left side.

3. Whichever method you choose, you will see the option to clear browsing data. Hit choose what to clear.

4. By default the dropdown box under time range will only be set to an hour, if you want to fully clear cookies make sure to change this to all time. Browsing history, download history and cached images/files are all optional. Cookies is the main one we want, but if you're unsure just select all of them. Once you've selected your options, hit clear now at the bottom and you're all done.

Google Chrome

1. Chrome is almost identical to Edge, hit the three dots at the top, then hit Settings.

2. Same as Edge, you can search for "cookies" at the top, or select Privacy and security on the left side.

3. Whichever method you choose, select Clear browsing data.

4. Chrome also sets the default to the last hour, so change this on the dropdown at the top to All time and make sure you have Cookies and other site data selected. Once you've done that, click clear data at the bottom and you're all finished.
