What is LiveDesk?

LiveDesk is a unified Macro-Collaboration Toolkit. We have created LiveDesk for workgroups to have user customisable workspaces to be able to come together virtually. What this does is to unite people wherever they may be to work as one. It is a place where we can ask questions, raise issues, and socialise. Essentially, LiveDesk is a virtual office floor.

How does LiveDesk work?

Unlike Teams or Slack, LiveDesk is fit-for-purpose and scales to support medium to large work groups so everyone on the same work mission can work together productively and effectively.  LiveDesk is a user customisable Digital Workplace where large workgroups have perpetual ‘workspaces’ to collaborate together virtually.

The different areas in the desk can be resized, so that you can minimize the part you don’t need and maximise the area you want to focus on. This does not impact other users and is only your view that changes. To change the size of the area or hide it, simple hover your mouse over the thin grey border between the areas and click dragging it left or right (highlighted below by the red circle). Examples of things users may not always need visibility of are Social chat or IT issues which we would suggest placing in the middle section. These are only used occasionally so to avoid clutter they can be temporarily hidden to allow the user to focus on the main work information.

Example LiveDesk Layout

The below examples illustrate how LiveDesk can look using a typical layout, in addition to illustrating how LiveDesk can look depending on the users role (see LiveDesk users for further detail on the level of access for each type of employee, such as 'Manager', 'Agent', and 'IT').

Example View (Typical Layout):

Example View (Manager/Team Leader):

In this view the managers can communicate and manage operations collaboratively within the 'Management Hangout'.

Example View (Agent):

In this view the agent has the same information with the exception of the 'Management Hangout' partition (allowing them to concentrate fully on the task in hand).
